♡ valentines haul ♡

February is set to be a really busy month for me. Not only will it be my birthday in a couple of weeks time, both of my besties will have birthdays and then Emma and my little sister. But before all of that is Valentine's Day which, for me, sounded like an excuse to go do a little shopping.

First off I scoured all the clothing stores. I've been desperate to dip into the high-neck trend that's been knocking around for a little while now.

Some time ago, I convinced myself that this style of top looks hideous on me and that I should never wear it ever. But I've been so in love with this kind of top that I was just desperate to get one. So after a lot of searching and some trying on I decided on two from New Look - one for sweet co-ords and another that I think will look good with onee.

Then it was off to Lush to buy some Valentine's treats. I really wanted to buy a box with the exclusive v-day goodies in it, and eventually I settled on Two Hearts. It's got the Heart Throb bubbleroon, the Love Locket bath bomb and the Cupid's Love soap. It looks like they are clean out of Love Locket bath bombs save the ones in the gift boxes so I'm glad I got my hands on one. I'll be sharing these with Emma, though I did pick up a few goodies to give her as part of her present but they're top secret until the day.

I did treat myself whilst I was in there to a Tisty Tosty bath bomb. It says it's based on a medieval love potion so I just couldn't resist. It's also one that I don't think is included in any of the gift sets, which seems like a shame. It smells lovely though, and I can't wait to use it. Plus it's really pretty!

I also had a snoop in Primark, since the stuff is so cheap in there that it's always worth having a little look. There was a handful of stuff that I wanted, honestly, but I decided to limit myself to hair accessories only and bought a big 50 pack of hair bobbles (you can never have enough when your hair is long and thick and you're super forgetful), five new scrunchies and a brand new usamimi. All for just £5.

I can tell that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of all of these items. The hair stuff in particular is right in line with the pastel-sweet-larme kind of look that I've been in love with lately. I'll post worn photos of both of the tops and the rest of the hair accessories when I've co-ordinated them all properly.

While I was out I did see a lot of stuff that I thought could be used for various gyaru sub-styles/other j-fashions and it got me to thinking about possibly making a post/series of posts on co-ordinating from your high street. I know these kind of things aren't exactly new or innovative but I haven't seen one floating around in a while and I think it's a nice little resource for people who are just dipping their toes into a fashion/can't afford to import a whole wardrobe of brand items or can't order off the internet at all (I know that a lot of younger people who don't have their own bank account etc, face this problem). Personally, I like to mix and match things from western brands with online purchases so I'm always on the lookout for clothes that I feel are in-line with current gyaru trends. For onee/mode this tends to be quite easy but himekaji can be difficult, though not impossible.

Anyway, I'll have a think about it! For now I'm going to be pretty busy up until the end of February so I'm not likely to start it until March.

Talk soon everybody, I hope you all enjoy your valentines days, whether you're spending them alone, with a friend or a partner.
